Fundamental Homelessness Review

Decision:

50/2005 The Cabinet approved the implementation plan as set out in Appendix 1 to the report.
51/2005 The Cabinet noted the recommendations from the Health and Community Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee and instructed the Director of Health and Community Services to proceed at pace with the recruitment to the vacant posts.
52/2005 The Cabinet agreed, in relation to the increase in establishment recommended by the Health and Community Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee, to instruct the Director of Health and Community Services to produce a report identifying how the proposed new posts would integrate with the current approved structure and proposals for funding.

The Honourable Pilot and Premier Travel Inn, Will Adams Way, Gillingham

Decision:

66/2005 The Cabinet delegated authority to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services to grant Landlord's consent under the lease (upon the best terms reasonably obtainable) to allow additional bedrooms to be constructed.

Review of Primary School Places - Richmond Infant and Arden Junior Schools

Decision:

63/2005 The Cabinet authorised public consultation on the proposal to amalgamate Richmond Infant and Arden Junior Schools.
64/2005 The Cabinet requested that the Education and Lifelong Learning Overview and Scrutiny Committee review the consultation procedures for school organisation reviews.

4.

Supporting People Strategy

Decision:

49/2005 The Cabinet approved the Supporting People Strategy and agreed to its submission to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

5.

Recruitment Freeze

Decision:

65/2005 The Cabinet agreed to unfreeze the following posts, as detailed in Appendix 1 to the report, to enable Directors to commence the recruitment process:

a) Support Services Assistant - Montgomery Avenue
b) PA to Service Manager

Development and Environment
c) Driver/Gardener/Fitter.

South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA) Membership

Decision:

53/2005 The Cabinet agreed that Medway Council formally gives notice of its resignation and withdrawal of funding from SEERA to be effective from 1 July 2005.

Older Persons' Plan

Decision:

59/2005 The Cabinet noted the progress made with the recommendations from the Cabinet meeting on 20 July 2004.
60/2005 The Cabinet endorsed the submission of the Expression of Interest to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister Non HRA Housing PFI Credits for £8.5m, submitted on 28 January 2005, for the supported accommodation component of the Shaws Wood redevelopment.
61/2005 The Cabinet endorsed the submission of the Expression of Interest to the Department of Health for Social Care PFI Credits for £17m, submitted on 11 March 2005, for the social care component of the Woodlands and Shaws Wood development.
62/2005 The Cabinet approved officers continuing to develop Woodlands and Shaws Wood based on the LIFT option as the most appropriate route but continuing development of alternative procurement options for the delivery of Woodlands and Shaws Wood should this not prove viable or possible within the timescales.
