Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board (KMSAB) Annual Report 2018-19 pdf icon PDF 560 KB

In accordance with the Care Act 2014, the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board is required to publish an Annual Report each financial year.

 

This report introduces the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board’s (KMSAB) Annual Report for April 2018 - March 2019. The Annual Report sets out the responsibilities and structure of the Board and details how the multi-agency partnership delivered against its priorities for the year. The report also provides information pertaining to Safeguarding Adults Reviews, funding arrangements and safeguarding activity information. The Annual Report was endorsed by the KMSAB on 5 November 2019. An easy read version of the report has been commissioned and will be made available on the Board’s website.

 

This report was considered by the Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 16 January 2020 and its comments are set out in section 5 of the report.

Medway Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) Annual Report 2018-19 pdf icon PDF 318 KB

The purpose of this report is to present the Medway Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) Annual Report 2018-19 to the Health and Wellbeing Board. The MSCB Independent Chair publishes an annual report describing how agencies in Medway have worked together through the year and how effective the arrangements are in Medway to keep children and young people safe from harm, abuse or neglect.

 

The report summarises the work undertaken in 2018-19 and the replacement of the MSCB with the Medway Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP) which transitioned from September 2019.

 

This report was considered by the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 9 January 2020 and its comments are set out at section 3 of the report.

Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) are under a duty to produce a Community Safety Plan to formulate and implement a strategy to reduce crime and disorder, combat substance misuse, and reduce re-offending. The report reviews arrangements for the Joint Board and recommends that the Health and Wellbeing Boards of Kent County Council and Medway Council approve the continuation of the Joint Board.
