This report presents the opinion for the financial statements for 2023-24 and the interim findings of the Council’s External Auditors, Grant Thornton LLP, in their audit of the Council’s arrangements to secure economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the use of resources during 2023-24.

In accordance with the Council’s Risk Strategy, this report presents the annual review of the Risk Strategy.

This report summarises the content of the report to agenda item 11, which, in the opinion of the proper officer, contains exempt information within one of the categories in Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. It is a matter for the Committee to determine whether the press and public should be excluded from the meeting during consideration of document.

This report presents the outcomes of an independent assessment of the council’s fraud risks and a newly created fraud risk register for 2024-25.
