Minutes:

Background:

This report presented an overview of the progress made against the approved Kyndi Business Plan in quarter 4 2024/25.

Members heard an update regarding the refreshed training and working practices for the CCTV team who were making good progress with planning the move to Gun Wharf. There was a discussion relating to how the CCTV team could support the police and Community Safety Plan with using new powers to seize nuisance motorbikes.

Key milestones during Quarter 4 2024/25 included Kyndi having ended the year with a positive balance sheet; the direct award for monitoring of two

schemes having been secured; a migration project continuing to be on track; the completion of 142 Lilli installations against an expected projection of 90; securing of funding from the Medway Adult Social Care budget to deploy Averio non-wearable TEC and; Website and intranet development which was now in the final stages.

Exempt Appendices to the report set out the Quarter 4 reports from the Chief Executive Officer and in relation to Operations, Sales and Marketing and Financial Performance.

It was noted that there was currently uncertainty about future levels of funding for Adult Social Care but that it should be possible to make intelligent savings and to continue to identify new and different ways of working to include assistive technology as required.

There would be a need to consider an investment strategy once levels of funding became clear and what would be included in allocations from Government, for example whether the Better Care Fund allocations would be included in the new multi-year settlement

It was also noted that Kyndi’s financial performance had been strong and that good progress had made, although there had been some challenges, such as high staff turnover.

It was requested that Kyndi produce a Net Zero report for consideration by the Sub Committee at the November 2025 meeting.
