This report seeks dispensations for three Cabinet Members who are also Directors of Council Companies.

Discussion:

 

The Monitoring Officer introduced the report which detailed three requests for dispensations for Cabinet Members who were also Directors of Council Companies.

 

In response to questions from Members, the Monitoring Officer confirmed that there was no benefit received by the Cabinet Members for their positions as Director of the relevant Council Companies and he confirmed that officers who were also Directors of such Council Companies did not require dispensations as they were not decision makers on Cabinet or Council Committees.

 

Decision:

 

The Committee agreed to grant dispensations until 30 June 2023 to Councillors Doe, Gulvin and Rupert Turpin, for the reasons set out in section 4 of the report, to allow participation in debate and/or to vote on any item at Cabinet, Council and any other Committee meeting of the Council (except regulatory committees), in which they have an Other Significant Interest as follows:

 

Councillor Doe in relation to his position as:

a) Director and Chairman of Medway Development Company Limited

b) Director and Chairman of Medway Commercial Group Limited

c) Director of Medway Public Services Limited.

 

Councillor Gulvin in relation to his position as:

a) Director of Medway Development Company Limited

 

Councillor Rupert Turpin in relation to his position as:

a) Director of Medway Commercial Group Limited

b) Director of Medway Norse.
