Gillingham Academy - Outcome of Consultation Decision: 78/2009 The Cabinet agreed to: (i) authorise
the Director of Children and Adults, in consultation with Portfolio
Holder for Children's Services, to publish formal proposals
including statutory notices relating to the closure of New Brompton
College; (ii) delegate authority to the Director of Children and
Adults, in consultation with Portfolio Holder for Children's
Services, to determine whether to approve the closure proposals at
the end of the statutory consultation period, if no objections are
received; (iii) delegate authority to the Director of Children and
Adults, in consultation with Portfolio Holder for Children's
Services, to pursue the necessary steps to establish a
co-educational academy of eight forms of entry and a sixth form on
the existing site admitting students aged 11 - 19 from 1 September
2010 (subject to no decisions being taken committing the Council to
any course of action until and unless the Council has approved the
closure proposal). |

Medway Primary Capital Programme - Primary Schools Reorganisation in Medway Decision: 67/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the
opening of a new school and to apply to the Secretary of State for
consent to make proposals to amalgamate Delce Infant and Delce
Junior by closing both schools and opening a new single primary
school on the sites of Delce Infant and Delce Junior schools in
September 2012 and to publish such proposals if the consent of the
Secretary of State is given. |

Sustainable Communities Act Decision: 81/2009 The Cabinet noted the potential of the
Sustainable Communities Act as a tool to improve the sustainability
of local communities in Medway but reaffirmed the current measures
already in place to achieve many of those aims as set out in the
report. |

Outcome of Consultation for Change of Age Range - Greenvale Infant School and Abbey Court School Decision: 79/2009 The Cabinet authorised the Director of
Children and Adult Services, in consultation with the Portfolio
Holder for Children's Services, to publish formal proposals
including statutory notices, relating to the change of age range
of: a) Greenvale Infant School, Chatham and: b) Abbey Court School,
Rainhamin each case to permit admission of children from the age of
3 years with effect from September 2009. |

Corporate Building, Window and Public Toilet Cleaning Contract Decision: 84/2009 The Cabinet agreed that the contracts
are awarded to the following companies as detailed in the exempt
appendix: a) Window Cleaning - Grade One Services b) Public Toilet
