Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy

Decision:

213/2008 The Cabinet agreed the Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy, as set out in appendix one to the report.

Recruitment Freeze

Decision:

221/2008 The Cabinet agreed to unfreeze the following posts, as detailed in Appendix 1 to the report, to enable officers to commence the recruitment process:
Children and Adults
a) Support Services Assistant - Project
b) Support Services Assistant - Older People
c) Voluntary Sector Co-ordinator
Regeneration, Community and Culture
d) Strategic Project Manager (Quality Public Transport Corridor projects).

3.

Award of Contract: Medway Park Development

Decision:

215/2008 The Cabinet agreed to delegate authority to the Assistant Director (Housing and Corporate Services) to award the contract for the construction of an athletics track at the Black Lion Leisure Centre to Thornton Contractors Limited.

4.

Gillingham North Ward Extension to the Existing Controlled Parking Zone

Decision:

216/2008 The Cabinet approved the proposed scheme to introduce a controlled parking zone from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday in the Gillingham North Ward, as set out in appendix D to the report.
217/2008 The Cabinet agreed to introduce permit parking in the following roads, as set out in appendix D to the report:
a) Zone 1 Bridge Road, Medway Service Road North, Medway Road / Bridge Road and Wharf Road.
b) Zone 2 Devonshire Road, Medway Road Service Road South between 28 and 58 Medway Road and Richmond Road, the west side between 126 and 202 Richmond Road.
c) Zone 3 Burns Road, Charter Street, Clifton Road, Cornwall Road, Medway Road between (Mill Road and Wyles Street), Mill Road (from Saunders Street to its junction with Medway Road) Prince Arthur Road, Richmond Road (from its junction with Stanley Road and its junction with Devonshire Road), St Mary's Road, Trinity Road, Strover Street and Wyles Street.
218/2008 The Cabinet agreed to introduce no waiting at any time in the section of Medway Road between Wharf Road and Mill Road, as set out in appendix D to the report.
219/2008 The Cabinet agreed to introduce 6 shared permit holders and pay and display 30 mins maximum stay parking bays in a section of the west side of Richmond Road immediately north of Milburn Road between numbers 146 and 158 Richmond Road, as set out in appendix D to the report.
220/2008 The Cabinet agreed to delegated authority to the Director of Regeneration Community and Culture, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Frontline Services, to consider any valid objections received following the advertisement of the intention to make the traffic regulation order, and to decide whether to proceed with the making of the order, with or without modifications.

5.

Code of Corporate Governance

Decision:

214/2008 The Cabinet agreed to recommend the Local Code of Corporate Governance, as set out in Appendix B to the report, to Council on 13 November 2008 for approval and incorporation into the Constitution.
