Approval to Consult on the Revocation of the Decision to Amalgamate Luton Infant and Junior Schools

This report will set out the reasons why the Council is requesting a revocation of the decision made by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA) on 8 June 2010 to close Luton Infant and Junior Schools, and the related proposal to open a new 3-11 primary school, in new buildings, in their place. The original decision was made upon the condition that planning permission for the new school buildings was obtained by 31 December 2011. This will not be possible due to the significant reduction in capital funding available to the Council.
