The Medway Landscape Character Assessment is a technical document that has been produced to support landscape-related planning decisions within Medway’s countryside and urban-rural fringe areas. It has two principal functions. Firstly it provides an evidence base in support of the landscape and countryside policies within the Local Development Framework Draft Core Strategy. Secondly it provides landscape guidance for planning officers, developers and the local community in consideration of proposed development within the rural and urban-rural fringe areas of Medway.
