Cycle Strategy in Medway

statutory targets within the Local Transport Plan (LTP) to
encourage cycling.

Consultation process
To assist in the delivery of the LTP
objectives and develop a prioritised strategic network of cycle
routes, Medway Council conducted a consultation exercise on cycling
in 2002. 15,000 questionnaires were distributed through local
schools, recreational facilities, businesses and council offices.In
total 1322 responses were received and analysed. The results
obtained provide a base of intelligence to assist in the delivery
of the LTP objectives for cycling and form the basis for a
Strategic Cycle Network Corridors Plan.
