Summary
This report will ask the Cabinet to decide whether to prescribe care leavers as a class of case, thereby providing discretionary Council Tax relief for this group.
Section 13A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 grants the billing authority the power to reduce the amount of council tax payable and this may be exercised by determining a class of case in which liability is to be reduced.
