Consultation on Changes to the Senior Management Structure

Summary

This report proposes a change to the senior management of the Council and requests Cabinet approval to commence staff consultation.

 

It is noted that the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements)(Meetings and Access to Information)(England) Regulations 2012 requires 28 clear days’ notice of the intention to make a key decision.

 

On this occasion it has not been possible to provide this 28 clear days’ notice and therefore Section 10 (General Exception) of the above regulations have been complied with. This is because the Council only recently appointed to the post of Director of Regeneration, Community and Culture, which has offered the opportunity to review the senior management structure. Second, the medium term financial plan, recently reported to Cabinet, has emphasised the need to identify additional and urgent savings options wherever possible.
