Transfer of Delegation of Responsibilities for Adult Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services from Kent County Council to Medway Council

Summary

On 9 July 2013 Cabinet approved the plan to discharge executive functions for the adult Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services directly to another authority (KCC). The commissioning of adult drug and alcohol treatment was delegated to Kent County Council (KCC) on behalf of Medway. This report seeks approval to transfer these responsibilities back to Medway Council In light of the recent spending cuts within Public Health, however, no negative impact or direct change to service delivery will be seen by service users as a result of this change, as it relates to back office commissioning functions only
