Stoke Road is regularly used by residents, dog walkers, and families accessing nearby fields, yet it has narrow pavements and limited space for safe pedestrian use. Vehicles frequently travel at excessive speeds, making the road unsafe for people and animals alike. Tragically, local cats and other animals are being struck by cars and left on the road, causing distress to pet owners and highlighting the lack of adequate speed control.
With ongoing and planned new housing developments in the area, traffic levels will continue to rise, increasing the risk of serious accidents unless preventative action is taken now. Introducing traffic-calming measures would significantly improve safety, protect wildlife and pets, and help create a more livable, responsible environment for both current and future residents.
