We urge the council to prioritise this matter and provide a clear timetable for inspection, funding allocation, and full resurfacing works.
Albemarle Road is currently in an unacceptable state of
disrepair, with numerous potholes and extensive surface degradation
along the entire length of the road. Despite temporary patch
repairs in the past, the road surface continues to fail, resulting
in persistent and worsening issues.
The condition of the road is causing serious problems for local
residents, including but not limited to:
• Damage to vehicles, including tyres, wheels, suspension, and
steering components
• Increased safety risks to motorists, cyclists, pedestrians,
and emergency vehicles
• Poor accessibility for residents, delivery vehicles, and
refuse collection
• Noise pollution and disruption caused by vehicles navigating
damaged sections
• Reduced overall quality of life for those living on and
around Albemarle Road. We firmly believe that the current condition
of Albemarle Road is unacceptable and requires urgent intervention
to ensure the safety, accessibility, and wellbeing of residents and
road users.
