We the undersigned petition the council to Make parking cheaper at local country parks like Capstone and Riverside. The price for parking at these parks was increased from May 1st 2026 from the previous price of £2.50 to £3.50. I feel this is far to large an increase for local users to bear and is most certainly NOT inline with inflation. The other main point of contention for many users of the parks there is not a 'tiered' system of charges. There is only a whole day charge. Most people only use the parks for a short visit. For instance dog walkers will often only use the park for a very time short time, 1 hour to two hours or maybe even less than an hour. Why should they have to pay for the whole day ? I feel this a very unfair way of charging people to use their own local parks. We the undersigned strongly urge you to reconsider the charging policy that you have instigated without any public consultation.
Please reconsider this increase and maybe/or change to a cheaper
tiered charging system that takes into account the average time
people spend at these parks.
