We the undersigned petition the council to We, the undersigned residents of Cavendish Avenue, are formally requesting that our road be considered for a residents’ permit parking scheme and/or parking restrictions due to ongoing and increasing parking difficulties.
Residents are regularly experiencing:
A lack of available parking spaces near their homes
Non-resident and commuter parking linked to the nearby train station
Vehicles being left parked on the road for several days or all week
Significant congestion on football/event days
Situations where residents are unable to leave and later return home due to no available parking at all
Increased tensions and disputes caused by limited parking availability
The current situation is having a negative impact on residents, access, safety, and general quality of life within the area.
We respectfully ask the council to:
Carry out a parking assessment on our road
Consider introducing resident permit parking
Review possible commuter and match-day parking restrictions
Consult local residents regarding suitable parking control
measures
We believe a permit parking scheme would greatly improve parking
availability and reduce ongoing issues affecting residents.
