Following a review of Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles licensing this report sets out the division of Licensing functions between the Committee and the Cabinet as provided for within the Functions Regulations.

Minutes:

Discussion:

Members queried whether any matters that may impact on the Taxi trade would be bought to the Committee before going to Cabinet.

The Head of Legal Services explained that, for example, if there were a major or controversial change proposed to a policy then this may return to the Committee prior to going forward to Cabinet.

Decision:

The Committee noted the outcome of the review and noted that a report will be submitted to Cabinet on 8 July setting out those Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles licensing functions which are the responsibility of the Executive (Cabinet).
