Background:

 

This report presented the Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP), which set out Medway’s partnership vision and priorities to support and help young people in Medway over the next three years. This Plan would apply to a wide range of organisations that were committed to making children’s lives better, including Children’s Services, Health, Police, Schools, and voluntary and community organisations. The Plan set out the overarching direction that needed to be taken, in partnership, to enable children and young people in Medway to reach their full potential.

 

The report was considered by the Health and Wellbeing Board on 17 November 2022 and the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 29 November 2022 and their comments were set out in sections 5 and 6 of the report.

 

A Diversity Impact Assessment had also been undertaken, which was attached at Appendix 2 to the report.

The Cabinet noted the comments made by the Health and Wellbeing Board meeting and the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee, as set out at sections 5 and 6 of the report.

The Cabinet approved the Children and Young People Plan, attached at Appendix 1 to the report.

 

Reasons:

 

The Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) sets out our partnership vision and priorities to support and help young people in Medway over the next three years. Approval of the Plan will support partner organisations to work together to better meet the challenges and utilise resources in an efficient and cost effective way.
