Medway Primary Capital Programme - Primary Schools Reorganisation in Medway
Decision:
67/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the
opening of a new school and to apply to the Secretary of State for
consent to make proposals to amalgamate Delce Infant and Delce
Junior by closing both schools and opening a new single primary
school on the sites of Delce Infant and Delce Junior schools in
September 2012 and to publish such proposals if the consent of the
Secretary of State is given.
68/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the closure of St Peter's
Infant School and the relocation of the existing pupils to
neighbouring schools in August 2010.
69/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the opening of a new
school and to apply to the Secretary of State for consent to make
proposals to amalgamate Twydall Infant and Twydall Junior by
closing both schools and opening a new primary school on the two
existing schools' sites in September 2011 and to publish such
proposals if the consent of the Secretary of State is given.
70/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the amalgamation of
Oaklands Infant and Oaklands Junior by closing one school and
making prescribed alterations to the other school so as to create a
single primary school on the existing site in September 2012.
71/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the amalgamation of Thames
View Infant and Thames View Junior schools by closing one school
and making prescribed alterations to the other school so as to
create a single primary school on the two existing schools' sites
in April 2012.
72/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the amalgamation of
Lordswood Infant and Lordswood Junior schools by closing one school
and making prescribed alterations to the other school so as to
create a single primary school on the two existing schools' sites
in September 2010.
73/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the closure of Ridge
Meadow Primary School in August 2010 and the relocation of the
existing pupils to neighbouring schools, principally Oaklands and
Wayfield.
74/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the closure of St John's
Infant School in August 2010 and the relocation of existing pupils
to neighbouring schools.
75/2009 The Cabinet agreed to consult on the opening of a new
school and to apply to the Secretary of State for consent to make
proposals to amalgamate St Nicholas and All Faiths by closing both
schools and opening a new school on the All Faiths site with
additional accommodation provided through the Medway Primary
Capital Programme (MPCP) at All Faiths and to publish such
proposals if the consent of the Secretary of State is given. The
amalgamation would take place once new accommodation has been
built.
76/2009 The Cabinet agreed to explore the possibility of
amalgamating Barnsole Infant and Barnsole Junior schools by closing
one school and making prescribed alterations to the other school so
as to create a single primary school in new buildings on a new
site.
