Purpose:

The Government's Primary Capital Programme (PCP) is a national programme of investment to transform primary schools provision over a fourteen year period. The Primary Strategy for Change is the local authority's strategic approach to maximising this investment, securing value for money and supporting the Every Child Matters policy agenda. Cabinet will be asked to approve the Strategy for submission for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

Decision:

124/2008 The Cabinet approved the Primary Strategy for Change in principle and authorised the Director of Children and Adults, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Children's Services, to make minor changes to the strategy prior to submission to the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF).

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is required to submit the Primary Strategy for Change to the Department for Children, Schools and Families by 16 June 2008.
