This paper discusses the proposal to change the senior management structure of the organisation so that it is better equipped for the future and further supports our commitment to become an excellent council with excellent services.

39/2008 The Cabinet recommended to Council on 28 February 2008 the implementation of the two directorate model (as outlined in Appendix C of the report), to be effective from 1 April 2008.
40/2008 The Cabinet recommended to Council approval of the new director and assistant director incremental pay scale, as explained in paragraph 7.2 of the report.

Approving the senior management structure is a decision that is reserved for Council. Given the impact on the revenue budget it is appropriate that this proposal is discussed at the budget setting meeting on 28 February 2008.
