Purpose:

Cabinet is asked to agree the contents to be included in the consultation for co-ordinated admission schemes and admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools.

Decision:

219/2005 The Cabinet approved the following points, as outlined in section 4 of the report, to be included in the formal consultation:
a) Options 1 and 2 in relation to the scheme of secondary education for the Hoo area
b) Options for changing the timetable for Primary school admissions
c) Changes to the Published Admissions Numbers as set out in section 4.2.1 of the report
d) Changes to the over subscription criteria for Voluntary Controlled Primary schools
e) Changes to the access areas for Greenacre and Walderslade Girls' schools.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is required to undertake a detailed consultation exercise prior to the determination of school admissions arrangements for September 2007. Results of the formal consultation will be submitted to Cabinet for a final decision in March 2006.
