Purpose:

To report on the outcome of the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) Impact Assessment on changes to the Medway Language Achievement Service (MLAS) following Cabinet's decision in September 2004 to move to a core strategic service.

Decision:

197/2005 The Cabinet agreed to support the proposal to reorganise the Medway Language Achievement Service (MLAS), which will be undertaken by the Director of Education and Leisure, in line with option 2 (paragraph 3.2 of the report) and the previous decision taken on 7 September 2004.

Reasons for the decision:

This will enable the Director of Education and Leisure to implement the reorganisation in line with the outcome of consultation.
