Purpose:

To report back on the consultation for co-ordinated admission schemes and admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools.

Decision:

78/2005 The Cabinet agreed:

(i) the co-ordinated admission arrangements for primary schools set out in appendix 1 to the report.

(ii) the co-ordinated secondary arrangements set out in appendix 2 to the report.
79/2005 The Cabinet agreed that a fundamental review of the system of admissions to Secondary Schools be undertaken to ensure fairness for children on the Hoo peninsula and the rest of the area.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is required to undertake a detailed consultation exercise prior to the determination of its school admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for September 2005 and the decisions take into account the majority views received. The schemes have taken into account any comments received and other admission authorities that have circulated their proposed arrangements have made them consistent with the proposed schemes.
