Purpose:
On 30 March Cabinet considered a rpeort on the
contractural arrangements for the Will Adams Centre. As requested
by Cabinet this report will detail the options for the location of
a Pupil Referral Unit.
Decision:
The Cabinet agreed option 7 (relocation of the
Will Adams Pupil Referral Unit to the Woodlands Youth Centre) as
its preferred option and agreed to recommend that Council allocates
capital funding for option 7 when it determines the allocation of
the additional education basic need capital funding.
Reasons for the decision:
Accommodation for the Will Adams Centre Key
Stage 4 Pupil Referral Unit needs to be improved to address the
issues identified in reviews of the Centre in 2002 and 2003, and to
meet the Council's statutory requirements.Option 7 represented best
value and the advantages of this option were set out in the
addendum report.
