This report will recommend the adoption of the Star Hill to Sun Pier: Planning and Design Strategy as supplementary planning guidance. The strategy is only available on hard copy.

The Cabinet agreed to adopt the Star Hill to Sun Pier Design and Planning Strategy, incorporating the proposed amendments as supplementary planning guidance for future development proposals.

The conservation-led regeneration of Star Hill to Sun Pier is fundamental to the wider aspiration of an urban renaissance. Development activity is already planned and underway at key locations such as Chatham Centre and Waterfront and Rochester Riverside. To achieve this the Council needs to guide, control and manage change in one of the key Conservation Areas and the Strategy is designed to help this process.
