Purpose:
To report on the outcome of the recent
Children's Services Inspection (please note that appendix 1 is only
available on hard copy)
Decision:
The Cabinet approved the Action Plan attached
to the report in response to the recommendations of the SSI
Inspection of Children's Services which was carried out in October
2003.
The Cabinet noted the Overview and Scrutiny recommendation in
relation to the sale of Thornham Road and confirmed that the
facility would not close until existing services had been
relocated.
The Cabinet noted the Overview and Scrutiny recommendation in
relation to cost saving measures but resolved to take no additional
action.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council is required to submit an Action
Plan in response to the 16 recommendations arising from the recent
SSI Inspection.
