Purpose:
To update Cabinet on the progress of
discussions with the ODPM and the remaining options that could be
pursued to achieve a smaller increase in Council Tax for
2004/2005.
Decision:
111/2004 The Cabinet noted the options set out
in appendices A and B to the report and referred them to Council
for decision.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council is required by statute to set a
budget and council tax levels by 11 March each year.The
constitution requires that Cabinet's budget proposals must be
forwarded to Council for consideration and approval.
