Purpose:
The report will set out the outcome of a
detailed assessment of air quality in Medway and will makes
recommendations for the declaration of new Air Quality Management
Areas.

Decision:
195/2009 The Cabinet instructed officers to
undertake a 12 week consultation period on the proposed revocation
of the current Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) and the
declaration of three new AQMAs including a large central AQMA, as
set out in the report.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council has a duty to designate Air
Quality Management Areas where the Air Quality Objectives are
unlikely to be met and to undertake appropriate consultation in
relation to any proposed declaration or revocation.
