Purpose:
The Local Area Agreement 2008 - 2011 (LAA2)
was signed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local
Government in July 2008 and a formal Annual Review / Refresh must
now be carried out.

Decision:
39/2009 The Cabinet recommended to Council on
25 March 2009 to agree the refresh of the Local Area Agreement as
set out in the report.
Reasons for the decision:
The LAA2 refresh will reflect ambitions for
the local area particularly in light of the potential impact of the
'global credit crunch' and the arrangements which the council and
Local Strategic Partnership partners intend to put in place to
mitigate any negative effects.The refreshed LAA will continue to
reflect sufficiently robust and challenging target levels, which
support the measurement of progress towards local priority
outcomes.
