This report will request to award a single source contract from February 2008 to January 2009 for a community meals service to the current provider. This contract is for the supply and delivery of community meals.

47/2008 The Cabinet agreed that the community meals contract be exempt from the procurement process under contract rule 12.1.
48/2008 The Cabinet authorised the Assistant Director of Corporate Services, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Adult Services, to award to Apetito Services a community meals service contract on the terms set out in the report.

The procurement of this service for a year will provide the basis for a high quality service that is responsive to the needs of the service users and contributes to the preventative agenda. It also enables a full review of the service provision to take place and a long term commissioning decision to be made.
