Purpose:

This report will ask Cabinet to recommend to Council the Community Plan as part of the policy framework.

Decision:

196/2006 The Cabinet recommended to Council that the draft Community Plan, incorporating Finance and Corporate Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee's comments, be approved, as a policy framework document subject to priority 10 on p32 of the agenda being amended to read

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is required under the Local Government Act 2000 to produce a Community Plan to promote and improve the economic, social and environmental well being of the area. The Community Plan forms part of the policy framework and the constitution requires the Cabinet to finalise its proposals for the Council to consider having taken into account any proposals from Overview and Scrutiny.The Local Area Agreement will advance the community leadership role of the Council with improved coordination between Central Government, the Council and partners, working through the Local Strategic Partnership.
