Purpose:
Cabinet will be asked to approve the Council's
response to this document, which has been prepared by Department
for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) for consultation, to
provide an overarching framework for the Gateway. It will set out
investment priorities for central government and the key principles
of regeneration.
Decision:
184/2006 The Cabinet endorsed the response to
the Key Choices document as set out in Appendix A to the report
subject to the revisions set out in the addendum report.
185/2006 The Cabinet endorsed the development of the interim
Strategic Framework, so far as it was available currently, and
agreed to keep the development under careful review in light of the
possibility of a change in the target housing numbers.
Reasons for the decision:
To ensure that Medway continues its
relationship with Government within the delivery of the Renaissance
Strategy and the role it will play in the Thames Gateway
