Purpose:
This report will provide details of the
outcome of the sheltered housing review undertaken in line with the
Cabinet decision on 28 June regarding the establishment of a task
group to evaluate sheltered housing stock.
Decision:
10/2006 The Cabinet supported the additional
post of 'Sheltered Housing Tenant Liaison Officer' funded from the
Housing Revenue Account.
6/2006 The Cabinet endorsed the findings of the Sheltered Housing
Task Group, subject to the deletion of the word
Reasons for the decision:
The review findings set out recommendations
for the future design and provision of sheltered housing. Changes
and developments are proposed that seek to ensure the provision of
independent living accommodation in Medway that continues to meet
the needs and aspirations of current and future tenants.
