This report summarises the position reached with preparation of the Kent & Medway Structure Plan and the remaining procedural steps needed leading to final adoption of the plan, the recommendations arising from the Examination in Public (September 2004) and makes recommendations for proposed changes (modifications) to the 'deposit' structure plan 2003.

157/2005 The Cabinet deferred consideration of this item to enable discussions to take place with Kent County Council concerning the County Council's proposed change to the overall housing level in the Kent and Medway Structure Plan and a further report be made to the next meeting.

There has not been an adequate opportunity to consider this matter jointly with Kent County Council and it is considered important to do so before proceeding with the publication of proposed modifications to the Structure Plan.
