Purpose:

This report will set out details of the Race Equality Scheme which sets out the Council's proposals to ensure it is meeting the requirements of the Race Relations Amendment Act. The scheme describes what the Council's services and functions are doing to eliminate unlawful discrimination, promote race equality and promote good race relations.

Decision:

145/2005 The Cabinet agreed the revised Race Equality Scheme for publication in July 2005 and implementation over the next 3 years.

Reasons for the decision:

The council is required to produce a Race Equality Scheme by the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.
