Decision Maker: Cabinet
Decision status: Decision made
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: Yes
96/2003 The Cabinet noted the outcome of the
consultation and the position in other LEAs.
97/2003 The Cabinet recommended that the Council gives further
consideration to changes to the pattern of the school year from
2005 and that, in the light of the public consultation, it pays
particular attention to the introduction of a five term year.
Changing the pattern of the school year would
have significant implications for parents, school staff, governors,
employers and others. A decision on the way forward needs to be
made soon because specific term and holiday dates have not yet been
set beyond July 2004 and because of the high level of response to
the consultation.
