47/2007 The Cabinet approved a three-month period of public consultation on the Countryside and Open Space Strategy.

The publication of a Countryside and Open Space Strategy is a target in the Local Strategic Partnership's Community Plan and is also referenced as a key policy document in the draft Local Development Framework.The Strategy is consistent with Government guidance and best practice as detailed by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment. The Strategy's development has been informed by detailed audits of the open space network and has already been the subject of user participation.
