Reasons for the decision:

In accordance with the Council's Constitution, once an Overview and Scrutiny Committee has completed its deliberations on any matter, the Committee will forward a copy of its final report to the appropriate place depending on its implications. In this case, the Cabinet should consider the Committee's request.Initial views from Kent Police are that the creation of an alcohol control zone that covers the centre of Chatham would be of benefit. Representatives of businesses from Chatham via the petition have also supported this view.
