The Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003 introduced
a new requirement on all social landlords to have a policy in
relation to anti social behaviour and procedures for dealing with
occurrences of anti social behaviour. These documents will
demonstrate the Council's commitment to ensuring all residents can
live in quiet enjoyment of their homes. The policy and procedures
will be accessible to tenants, residents and any other stakeholder
that may need the Council's assistance in relation to any alleged
instance of anti social behaviour.
233/2005 The Cabinet approved the Anti Social
Behaviour policy and procedures as annexed to the report.
234/2005 The Cabinet agreed that the Director of Health and
Community Services, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for
Adult Services, be delegated authority to approve revisions to the
policy and procedures as and when required.
Acceptance of the Anti Social Behaviour Policy
and procedures will set down a clear benchmark as to what
constitutes acceptable behaviour within the community of Medway. The
policy will ensure that tenants and residents are fully aware of
what is expected of them whilst giving officers the ability to
follow the prescribed approved routes when dealing with instances
of anti social behaviour.Acceptance of the policy will ensure the
Council meets its legal obligation in relation to The Anti Social
Behaviour Act 2003.
