This report considers the issues raised by the Council's external auditors following the audit of the Statement of Accounts for 2004/2005.

223/2005 The Cabinet noted the issues raised by PWC and the proposed action and response as summarised in the body of the report.
224/2005 The Cabinet recommended to Council the changes to the Statement of Accounts as set out in paragraph 4.3 of the report and reflected in the amended sections of the Statement of Accounts set out at Appendix 2 to the report.
225/2005 The Cabinet agreed to the continuance of current policies for the treatment of the trading deficit, accrual of salary costs and audit fees as set out in paragraphs 5.2 and 6.3 of the report.

There is a statutory requirement to consider and respond to relevant matters raised by the auditor following audit of the accounts in each year.
