Purpose:

This report will report back to Cabinet on the outcome of consultation on the following schools: Bligh Infant School, Delce Infant School, Thames View Infant School and Warren Wood Primary School.

Decision:

80/2005 The Cabinet agreed for an impact assessment, including a formal Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) scoping, to be carried out on these proposals to determine their financial, social and educational implications, which will be reported back to Cabinet in due course.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council's policy is to allow the establishment of additional Foundation Stage education places at schools, where it can be shown that the quality of provision will be good, and where doing so is consistent with the Council's statutory duties. An impact assessment will determine the benefits of such a proposal.
