Purpose:
This report is to advise members and the
public of the findings of the Social Services Inspectorate in
respect of the performance of the Council's Social Services
function during the year 2002/2003.
This was a confidential report and was not for publication under
Section 100 A (3) (a) of the Local Government Act 1972 until the
Cabinet meeting on 14 October 2003 when copies were made available
to the press and public.
Decision:
298/2003 The Cabinet noted the report and the
plans for responding to the concerns highlighted.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council will be required to demonstrate
that it has responded to the findings of the Annual Review of its
Social Services function as part of the overall comprehensive
performance assessment of the Council.
