Purpose:
This report sought approval for a contract for
the provision of full time education of key stage 4 (14 - 16 year
olds) excluded pupils.
Decision:
215/2003 The Cabinet agreed to award the
contract to RPS Rainer as set out in paragraph 7.1 of the
report.
216/2003 The Cabinet agreed to receive a further report following
the review of the Will Adams Centre in Autumn 2003.
Reasons for the decision:
The Will Adams Centre is necessary in order to
meet the Council's legal requirement to provide full time education
for excluded pupils. Exemption from the tendering process under
Contract Rule 2(b)(i) is justified in view of the potential adverse
impact on pupils that a change of service provider may
have.
