169/2003 The Cabinet endorsed and referred the initial proposals for the Housing Strategy and Private Housing Renewal Policy to the Health and Community Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee for consideration.
170/2003 The Cabinet agreed to officers working with the North Kent Housing Partnership as outlined within the review.

The Housing Strategy forms a part of the policy framework. The constitution requires that Cabinet forward the draft document to the relevant overview and scrutiny committee for comments. It will then be referred back to Cabinet and on to Council for approval. This will enable the Council to review the strategy and seek to comply with the Government's 'Fit for Purpose' criteria.Continuing to work with the North Kent Housing Partnership will enable the establishment of joint commissioning arrangements with neighbouring authorities and Registered Social Landlords, cross-boundary research into improving access to suitable housing to take place and a range of housing types and tenures to meet need to be developed, in particular those of key workers.
