Decision:

5/2010 The Cabinet approved the Tenants Incentive Scheme for Under Occupation, as set out in Appendix 2 to the report.

Reasons for the decision:

The policy supports the objectives of the Housing Strategy. It reflects the shortage of family accommodation and provides an incentive for tenants to transfer to a more suitable home. This policy will also be used to offer alternative accommodation to those tenants who wish to give up disabled adapted property that is no longer a requirement for their needs. This policy is also supported and forms part of the basis for the successful bid for funding from the Overcrowding Pathfinder Programme to develop an action plan to tackle overcrowding as a whole in the Medway Area.
