Decision:
34/2003 That Deangate Golf and Sports Complex
is taken back under direct management from April 2003 on the
grounds set out at 8.1 of the report.
35/2003 That the Riverside Bowls facility be transferred in-house
from April 1 2003 and the facility closed at the end of the indoor
playing season, and the financial implications of keeping the
facility open will be built in to the 2003/04 budget.
Reasons for the decision:
The decision on Deangate presents the best
financial outcome for the Council for the forthcoming year with
limited impact on quality of service delivery. It also leaves
options open for future consideration of the overall management of
the service. Cabinet was required to make a decision on the future
of the Riverside Bowls facility. This decision would provide
service continuity and minimise disruption to customers.
