This report provided information on the outcome of the Support Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee's consideration of the updated communications protocol at its meeting on 31 October 2002.

343/2002 The Cabinet recommended to Council that the updated communications protocol as set out in appendix 1 to the report be approved and be added to the Council's constitution.

The Cabinet are requested to make a decision on the information contained within the report and to consider the recommendations set out in paragraph 4of the report. The Cabinet's comments will be reported to the council meeting of 27 November 2002.
