Purpose:
As the Council's auditors,
PriceWaterhouseCoopers are required, under the Audit Commission's
Code of Audit Practice (the Code), to issue an Audit Letter to the
Council on completion of their audit, demonstrating that the Code's
objectives have been addressed and summarising all issues of
significance arising from their work.
Decision:
341/2002 The Cabinet agreed the response to
the Audit Letter as set out at appendix A to the report.
342/2002 The Cabinet commended officers for their work so far on
this matter.
Reasons for the decision:
The general management of the Council's
affairs is an executive responsibility and the response to the
Audit Letter is therefore a Cabinet decision.
